We would like to have brought you a player review of the new Playtech powered Circus Casino but as soon as we had trawled through the extensive sign up form, the casino saw fit to lock our account as they couldn’t “verify that we were over 18”. Now obviously we are the first to want to promote responsible gaming, but this instant locking of accounts is a bit draconian by anyone’s standards. Are we so desperate to play at Circus Casino that we could be bothered to make that call to customer services? And then fax through stuff just so we can have the privilege of making a deposit with them? No prizes for guessing that we couldn’t and we bet that most of the gamblers on the internet won’t be either. There is responsible gaming and bureaucracy gone mad. And this policy falls into the latter. A courtesy call from Circus explaining the situation wouldn’t have gone amiss, but they seem to prefer the “you call us” approach.
So how good Circus Casino actually are we can’t tell you, we have left the banners up in case anyone actually wants to try opening an account there. They have a standard sign up bonus of up to 100% and reasonable wagering requirements. They also have an impressive gaming pedigree, being behind the largest casino in the UK – Birmingham’s Star City. However, with all that success they seem to have lost sight of the fact it’s the customer who actually pays their wages – so blocking potential customers doesn’t seem a very sensible policy.
